Notifications!

Notifications!

Last week we added Notifications to Pike13. Notifications keep you, your staff and your clients up the speed. We believe your staff and clients generally want to do the right thing. Notifications serve as reminders (and in some cases, accountability) to ensure this happens.

Currently, notifications can be delivered by text message (SMS) and/or Email (Apple's Push Notifications for a native iPhone/iPad app will be available in the future).

Notices & Alerts

Notifications come in two forms: Notices and Alerts. Notices are simply informational (e.g. Informing owners that a staff member comp'ed a guest). Alerts require action and are time sensitive (e.g. No one has been checked into a class that started 30 minutes ago). Most notifications are for staff and owners but we're also using them to notify clients of things like upcoming appointment, failed membership payments, and creditcards that are about to expire.

Owner Escalation

For some alerts, like unpaid visits and empty classes/appointments, we escalate the alert to the owner if the staff member hasn't dealt with it in a reasonable amount of time. For instance, if no one is signed into a class, the staff member is alerted shortly after class is scheduled to start. The alert is also sent to the owners 30 minutes after class if the staff member hasn't dealt with it by then.

Do Not Disturb

Our goal is to keep the notification signal-to-noise ratio high. The owners of well-running businesses should receive a low volume of notifications. All the same, you can configure how you want to be notified for each notification type (or not at all).

In addition, we've add Do Not Disturb hours, which will ensure that you never receive a text message at 3am... unless you want to.
