You can easily add an impression of legitimacy and permanence to your business just by using your business domain for your email accounts. I’ll estimate about 20-30% of the email addresses that I come across each day are @gmail or @yahoo. I’m not talking about personal email addresses, but business email addresses. For example, these folks are using thebestbusinessever@gmail.com instead of the more established and professional looking: nicki@thebestbusinessever.com.
Aside from the professional appearance, another perk to using your domain for your emails is that you can create multiple accounts (each of your staff members can have their own email account for your business) as well as direct incoming mail to the proper department. For example, you can create info@, jobs@, admin@, events@, etc.
Setting up email accounts with your domain is simple, especially with Google apps. You already own your business domain…so get on it!
